The University of Rhode Island Men's & Women's ultimate teams will once again be hosting their fall tournament, Brisk Winds, now in its 12th year. This year promises to be the biggest, most competitive tourney at URI to date. Logistics are still in the works, but this year, by adding additional field sites 10 minutes from the main campus, we are hoping to host 20 Men's Open A teams, 10 Men's Open B teams, and 10 Women's teams. We're hoping to draw as many regional-caliber teams as possible looking for a warm-up before tournaments such as Coffee Cup and HHBP. Tournament cost will be $250, with bids due by Wednesday, October 1st. We've always gotten far more bids than we could accept, which why we're attempting to increase field space and admit as many teams as possible. Bids will be considered on the basis of team strength (including results from the '08 championship series and early Fall play), geographic diversity, history of attendance at URI tournaments, and how good-looking your team is. We'll announce who is in by Friday October 3rd. There will of course be field food provided both days, including fresh bagels, bananas, oranges, water, and a PB&J-making station.
