Team History:
Bursting forth from the loins of the 2000 WTO crisis,
seven former Verge players, one southern belle, two Philly
vets, three Carleton grads, two Aussies, and five Seattle
standouts came together to show the northwest region just
how long a pre-game warm up can last. Based on a tradition
of mob-like instincts and cat-like reflexes, seattle riot
has competed for the last four years under the tutelage
of the infamous hill people and become attuned to their
mysterious doctrine, communicating only by smoke signal.
We have had many successes (a world championship) and faced
many challenges (four teams have since surpassed us for
longest warm-up). Yet we know one thing we can always count
on—our ability, no matter the weather conditions,
to procure a vanilla soy latte on the way to most any field
site.
