Team History:
POUNCE is an all-Pittsburgh team, which is making its second
trip to Nationals in two years. Pounce evolved from the
Lemmings, which grew out of Catshit, a mostly-Pittsburgh
combo team which qualified for Nationals in 1998 and 1999.
Before Catshit, Pittsburgh had a number of women's club
teams (Discgrace, Liquid Joy), which had a lot of fun but
didn't win many games. It wasn't until 1994 that we picked
up a solid core of players, and in 1996 won our first tournament
(Autumn Equinox in Ann Arbor). Since then we've won R.U.B.
(2002), T.U.T. (2002 and 2003) and Sectionals (2002). At
Nationals in 1998 we came in seeded 14th and left in 8th
place. This year we have our strongest roster ever: wily
vets, dominating defenders, young speedsters, and two of
the juiciest dancing booties you'd ever want to see. Since
four of our best players are (alas) moving to other cities
next season, and this is our last chance to play together,
we plan to play our hearts out in Sarasota, and make this
a Nationals to remember.
